Michael Coffey, SPHR

Mike Coffey is president and founder of Imperative Information Group. Mike is a former human resources manager with experience in aerospace, healthcare, and the service industry. In 1999, he founded the firm that became Imperative Information Group. From the beginning, Mike’s goal has been for Imperative to be the preferred source of background investigations to firms who recognize the value of reliable due diligence.

An HRCI-certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Mike is the 2012 President-Elect for the Fort Worth Human Resource Management Association. He also teaches Module 6 (Risk Management) of the SHRM Learning System for FWHRMA’s PHR/SPHR prep class.

Imperative is a HRCI pre-approved provider of recertification courses and Mike often conducts webinars for clients and other HR professionals. He also regularly speaks to professional and community groups on a wide range of topics.

Mike is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management, the Fort Worth Human Resources Management Association, and several other SHRM-related organizations.

A variety of publications have featured Mike’s insights, including Wired News, G. Neil’s Manager’s HR Answers, the National Association for Health Care Recruitment’s Directions magazine, Human Resources Management News, and the Society for Human Resource Management’s HR Magazine.

Mike is a past-director for the National Association of Professional Background Screeners and previously served as co-chair of their Ethics and Accreditation Committee. He speaks at the screening industry’s major conferences on a regular basis and conducts his own two-day Background Investigations Seminar several times each year.

Mike is a licensed private investigator and serves as the Region 2 Director for the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators. He is also a past-director for the National Association of Legal Investigators.

Mari Cazares first worked with Imperative’s president, Mike Coffey, on a human resources project management team at Texas Health Resources in the mid-1990′s.

Mari has experience in both human resources and IT project management. She joined Imperative in 2000 and has served as Vice President of Operations since 2007. In this role, Mari manages Imperative’s day-to-day operations, with special emphasis on maintaining our fanatical approach to quality and customer service.

Mari is a licensed private investigator.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Computer Information Systems from the University of North Texas.
